The 500E NCL overwrap machine gained popularity in the poultry industry due to its leak-resistant packaging. Later, Ossid expanded to include weigh price labeling equipment and custom thermoforming machines, particularly for the medical industry.

Recognizing the shift towards sustainable packaging, Ossid partnered with Reepack, an Italian food packaging equipment manufacturer, to expand their solutions. This partnership allowed Ossid to offer tray sealers, standard thermoformers, vacuum chamber machines, and flow wrapping equipment. Today, Ossid is a single-source supplier for food and medical device packaging, weigh price labeling machines, and case scales, providing all parts, installation, training, and service from their North Carolina location.

John Wind, Product Line Manager for the Industrial Scale Division at Ossid, highlighted their capabilities in weigh price labeling, high-speed labelers, and end-of-line case scale systems. He discussed a project that involved creating a new distribution center, integrating data into the customer's ERP system, and supplying case delivery, packing, and sealing equipment through ProMach sister companies.

Ossid's weigh price labeling equipment can label over 100 packs per minute, with two applicator systems: a multi-finger independently floating applicator for high-profile, irregular, or round packages, and an air jet system for flat packages. These systems can integrate options like reject systems for weight or label issues, and inkjet systems for remote setup based on order and product requirements from the ERP system.

The packaging process includes manual pack stations, where operators fill cases that are then weighed, labeled, and sealed. The system uses Windows-based operating systems for ease of use. Case labeling options include corner labeling, with case erecting and conveyance managed by ProMach sister companies.

Overall, Ossid provides comprehensive project management and integration, leveraging ProMach's network to deliver complete packaging solutions.
