Ossid Introduces the 8000MH Automatic Horizontal Form Fill Seal Machine to Medical Device Manufacturers

March 29, 2007

Rocky Mount, NC - Ossid, a division of Pro Mach, has designed a 'clean-room ready' 8000MH Horizontal Form Fill Seal (HFFS) machine to process flexible, foil-foil, semi-rigid, rigid, atmosphere and modified atmosphere, and vacuum, for use in medical device packagers. Employing the efficiencies of servo motion, Ossid uses three servo motors to activate both the forming and sealing presses, as well as to control the motion of the web feed conveying systems. The use of this technology significantly reduces the consumption of compressed air, vastly reduces potential air contaminants, and allows for higher and more efficient cycle speed. The Ossid 8000MH integrates Control Logix from Allen Bradley with its newest PV 1250 color screen operator interface. The user friendly software is designed for expert monitoring, controlling, and reporting of all package process functions.

"The 8000MH's unique tooling design allows greater flexibility and simplicity during changeovers," said Fran Ventura, Ossid's vice president of sales for the MH product line. "By providing easy access to all machine areas and minimizing the number of moving parts, the 8000MH's maintenance costs are extremely low."

The Ossid 8000MH uses stainless steel construction that makes it easy to maintain and ideal for use where maximum hygiene is desired. Also, particulate- free cutting hardware is employed to maximize hygienic standards.
